Jake's 24th Birthday

Well...It's official.  I'm 24 years old.  That would be halfway to 48 which is still not even half of either of my parents age!  It was a day to relax and spend some time with Kell.  I opened presents in the morning.  One of the gifts that Kell got me was the Bourne trilogy...so we watched the first two that morning.  Afterwards we jumped on a train and went downtown.  There were some cool bands playing on the sidewalks.  There was also this guy sitting on the corner with his buckets playing the drums.  We were pretty amazed at how good this guy was!  Then we walked along the Willamette River downtown.  It was fun and all, but it was time to head home for the best part of the entire day...the HOT FUDGE CAKE!  It was tasty.  THE END.

Fun stuff!

These are some pictures from my birthday! Wild! Jake made it such a fun day. We went shopping, saw Iron Man 2, went to lunch and dinner, and he made me a cake, my favorite! Also there is a picture of me holding the primary joys! I am the new primary chorister! It will be so fun to get great ideas from my sisters and mom, and to be with the kids!

Pittock Mansion

This is called the Pittock Mansion! It was built in 1909 by this man who was very influential in Oregon. It's huge!!! He and his wife both started many organizations...can't remember what...I do know that he was an advocate for cyclers and rode his bike until the day he died! Cool!! It has a great view of downtown Portland, although the pictures don't show it very well. It's a fun place to walk around.

Flowers!

These are some of the beautiful flowers at the nursery that is right across the street from where we live! These are dogwoods, fuschia, and rhododendrons. There are so many beautiful flowers that grow here and my mom says a lot of them grew in Georgia too!  The pink one that looks like a dancer is called June Bride. So cute!!

The Boat

We sold my "boat" to a good friend before we left. I will miss it dearly!!! But she sails on new waters under Captain Jesi Jerman!

Movin' Out

We were getting everything packed and ready to move to Portland, Oregon the day after graduation! May 9, 2010! Jake had the sweet idea of towing the car so my mom and I didn't have to drive. We all piled in the front of the U-Haul where it was nice and cozy for 13 hours on the road. In one day! We sang songs the whole way, much to Jake's dismay...! Played games, counted sagebrush and construction cones, and enjoyed the beautiful Oregon scenery. We made it there in one piece due to Jake's excellent driving and maneuvering skills.

Graduation!!!

Jake and I graduated from Utah State University May 8, 2010! What a great day being with family and friends. Here are a few pictures, me and Jake, Jake with his parents, me with my family, and some of my music therapy friends! Jake graduated in American Studies and I graduated in Music Therapy.
